Professional dog training specialising in obedience, behaviour modification, protection, working and sport dog development. Based in Perth's northern suburbs.
At Forge K9, we believe great dogs aren’t born—they’re forged through trust, consistency, clear communication, and strong relationships.
Our mission is to help dogs and their owners build confidence together, whether you’re raising a well-mannered family companion, overcoming behavioural challenges, or pursuing excellence in dog sports. Every dog is different, so our training is tailored to their temperament, drives, and your individual goals.
Forge K9 is a veteran-owned and operated business run by two passionate trainers. We focus on practical, real-world training that builds stronger relationships, effective communication, and reliable results both in and outside the training environment.
We’re proud to be partnered with HAART — Homeless & Abused Animal Rescue Team, supporting their work to give vulnerable animals a second chance and helping dogs in need build a better future.
Our goal is simple: confident, engaged dogs that are a pleasure to live, work, and adventure with.

★★★★★
"Hayley and Ben have helped immensely with Tobi who had been over
protective, territorial and reactive with other dogs, scooters and even cars!
We cannot recommend them enough as we now have a confident dog
who knows how to behave with other dogs and we now have the tools
and techniques to keep him inline and obedient.
Hayley has also utilised her own exceptionally trained dogs to help Tobi
get socialized with other dogs in a safe and fun way. Training is always
structured, clearly communicated and concentrates on what we want to achieve.
100% recommended!"

"Hayley has been an absolutely amazing trainer, looking after
my girl Flirt as her own. She was always incredibly reliable,
flexible, and genuinely up for anything no matter what Flirt
needed on the day. My girl can be quite sensitive, but Hayley
showed so much patience and care, even helping her build confidence
around her fear of birds. From calm reassurance to fun adventures
like swimming, she always went the extra mile to make sure Flirt
felt safe and happy.
It’s clear Hayley truly loves what she does and that shines
through in the way she connects with the dogs in her care.
Flirt absolutely adored her (and her boys!), and I always felt
completely at ease knowing she was in such capable hands.
Flirt and I can’t recommend Hayley highly enough."

"Hayley is an incredibly attentive dog walker and an amazing trainer.
She really knows her stuff when it comes to dog body language and behaviour.
My pup Kona is a highly energetic cattle dog, and Hayley knows exactly how
to keep her fulfilled, happy, and well-exercised every time she sees her.
She has taught her new tricks, obedience, and even took her on her first bike ride!"

Training In Action
Every dog has a story. Here are just a few of the dogs we've helped build confidence, reliability and stronger relationships with their owners.
Whether you're preparing for your first lesson or deciding which
training option is right for your dog, here are answers to some of
the questions we're asked most often.
What training methods do you use?
At Forge K9, we don't believe in one-size-fits-all training.
Every dog and owner are different, so we tailor our approach
to suit your individual goals, your dog's temperament, and your lifestyle.
Our focus is on building a strong relationship, clear communication,
and practical skills that create lasting results—not quick fixes.
What types of dogs do you work with?
We work with dogs of all breeds, ages, and backgrounds.
Whether you've just welcomed home a new puppy, have an
adolescent pushing boundaries, an adult dog with behavioural
challenges, or a high-drive working or sporting dog, we can help.
My dog is reactive or aggressive. Can you help?
Yes.
Behavioural issues such as reactivity, leash frustration,
fear, overexcitement, resource guarding, and aggression
require an individual assessment before training begins.
Every behaviour has an underlying cause, so we first
identify why it's happening before developing a structured training plan.
How many sessions will my dog need?
Every dog is different.
Some owners achieve their goals in only a few sessions,
while more complex behavioural cases or advanced obedience require a longer training plan.
After your first consultation, we'll recommend a training pathway tailored to your goals.
Can the whole family be involved?
Absolutely.
Consistency is one of the biggest factors in successful training.
We encourage everyone who regularly interacts with your dog to participate wherever possible.
How do I get started?
Simply get in touch through our website, or through our social media.
We'll have a chat about your dog, your goals, and recommend
the training option that best suits your needs.
Still have a question?
We love talking dogs. If you can't find the answer you're looking for, don't hesitate to contact us—we're always happy to help.
